Amon Düül III [UK] Meetings With Menmachines, Unremarkable Heroes Of The Past () By , it was clear that Amon Düül II was the major unit of the axis. Still, lineups were barely stable enough to credit the same group with all of the work released under the Amon Düül II banner.

"Meeting With Menmachines" is not a compilation, but rather the second of four all-new studio albums by the 's formation of Amon Düül (usually referred to unofficially as Amon Düül (UK) as the band had relocated and the lineup shifted).

However, "Airs On A Shoestring" is an interesting album in its own right, comprising the long, freaky improvisation "One Moment's Anger Is Two Pints Of Blood" from their debut, two more commercial hard rock tracks from "Meetings With Menmachines Unremarkable Heroes From The Past", and "Hymn For The Hardcore", which would later appear on "Fool.

Hawk Meets Penguin is an unremarkable attempt to cash in on the Amon Duul name (in fact the Magnum Records CD version has a different cover and lists it as an Amon Duul II album with an album photo dating from the late 60's!!) by former members John Weinzerl and Dave Anderson. While Weinzerl's guitar is recognizable from the early AD II albums.
